My name is Kim Clayton, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who takes a collaborative Wellness approach to assist my clients in becoming their best selves. I have a passion for helping WOMEN develop better coping skills to manage emotions and develop better relationships. I enjoy guiding my clients in finding more productive ways to navigate daily stressors while providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable space to identify underlying triggers and traumas.
My approach to therapy is using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This approach focuses on increasing mindfulness, regulating emotions, problem-solving, effective interpersonal skills, and better stress management. I like to focus on the "whole self," which includes the mind, body, on the soul, as all work together. For clients seeking faith-based services, I also provide faith-based counseling. I also am Solution Focused, so I enjoy working towards my client's goals.
My passion is Women and addressing relationships, self-worth/esteem, child rearing/raising, trauma, anxiety, depression, body image issues, goal setting.
My communication style
I am a Therapist who provides a very comfortable environment as I have a down-to-earth and relatable personality. I like my clients to be their true selves, and a sense of humor is welcomed. I do like to work collaboratively, and I therapeutically challenge growth by utilizing activities.
My journey to mental healthcare
What attracted me to be a therapist is my passion to support and uplift Women and build on their strengths. Women have many layers and challenges, and as a Therapist, I can help Women navigate all the complexities that we encounter. I am driven to do this work because I am a Woman and can relate to this population firsthand.

I like to do follow-ups every session and will occasionally assign fun homework duties to complete before the next session.
My first session with you
I like to gather general background information to determine the presenting problem and set goals and treatment plans. I encourage my clients to be an active participants in developing these goals and plans.
