Hi there, I'm Michele!

It can be overwhelming to find a therapist who is a good fit - made harder when you may already be overwhelmed by the very reason you are seeking therapy services in the first place! I know, I’ve been on the other side myself. As a clinician, I partner with you, meeting you where you are now, to learn what your goals are for therapy. It’s always an honor to get to know you and bear witness to your journey which I do in a curious, non-judgmental and compassionate way. The therapeutic process is a nuanced interplay of you being understood and heard, collaborative problem solving, and learning about yourself. Often during a challenging time or life event, we may realize that the things that used to work to navigate stress, anger, loss, disappointment, etc. no longer work. That can leave us depressed, unmotivated, overwhelmed, anxious, or frustrated. Or we have come to a crossroads where we want to live more authentically with our values and more connected with others. Therapy provides a safe, trusting place to lay the foundation of you taking steps to become the version of yourself that you want to be. I don’t believe that we are broken or need fixing by an “expert” therapist. More often than not, therapy is about becoming more aware of ourselves - mind, body and spirit - and the support to make changes, even if small, that align with your values. I draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) frameworks in my practice. I am a TEAM CBT Level 1 practitioner, from Dr. Burns’ Feeling Good book. I worked as a therapist in schools and in hospice bereavement. I bring almost fifteen years of pre-therapy work (in the private sector) to my practice which has given me a wide world view and perspective. I am particularly interested in holistic health, navigating illness, parenting, family systems, habit change and the cultural aspects of our society where the pressure to be happy all the time is so pervasive! Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
