My name is Areli Balvaneda, LMFT #105678. I work under the CBT, DBT, and Interpersonal therapy models.
My approach
My approach to therapy is based on compassion. Relinquishing the idea that we are meant to be perfect and how more importantly, how our lack of perfection makes us human.
My focus
Currently, I work with young adults to middle age adults. Addressing childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety.
My communication style
My communication style is compassionate and direct. My approach has helped my clients work through their challenges and not around them. I have been told by clients that my approach has helped them make changes in their lives, has helped them be accountable, and has empowered them to make long-lasting changes in their lives.
My journey to therapy
I was attracted to being a therapist because of my personal experiences. Mental health is as important as medical health due to how both are connected. I am driven to do this work because helping another person through a difficult time is food for your soul.

Goals are based on what the client is looking to address as well as the symptoms that are correlated with the thoughts and feelings.
