Hi and welcome/bienvenidos! My name is Elizabeth Aguilar-Godinez, LMFT. I am a bilingual, Spanish-speaking Clinician and work with cultural-related issues, family/familia dynamics, anxiety, depression, and stress. I have extensive experience in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I am Certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and specialize in working through childhood trauma and how it continues to impact us into adulthood. My approach is sharing my knowledge with my clients and helping them find the light within so that they can work through this difficult time in their lives.
My approach
I work from a client-centered approach, therefore I tailor my clients' treatment to meet their specific and individual needs. Some of the most common approaches I include in treatment are solution-focused, client-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems.
My focus
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults to help them process and work through any life or family-related stressors, past trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and any other difficulty they may be facing.
My communication style
I am a strong believer that we as individuals know ourselves better than anyone. As such, I will provide a safe, judgment-free space for my clients to share their concerns. I will assist my clients by providing psychoeducation (sharing my knowledge), working alongside them as they process and find solutions that work best for their lives and will be there to cheer and root them on as they continue to work their way out.
My journey to therapy
Life is a journey that can be hard at times. There will always be difficulties throughout all of our lives. I am here to share what I've learned with my clients so that they can learn and develop effective coping strategies and implement them in their lives, not just during treatment but also in their future and throughout their lifetime.
My goals for you
When meeting with my clients I provide a safe and empathetic space for them to share their concerns and explore with them what is causing the most concern at the time and work with them to tackle that first to assist with restoring some peace and balance in their lives.
My first session with you
During our first session, my clients can expect to find a safe, warm, welcoming, judgment-free space where they can express their concerns. The first session will consist of information gathering, "getting to know you" type of questions, and most importantly, hope and encouragement. We will discuss how we will work together to process and work through this.
