My approach

I focus on the relationship between the client and the therapist. My approach is tailored to each individual client and what their desired outcomes are. I am collaborative and ask my clients what they would like to accomplish in therapy. Theoretically speaking, I primarily utilize CBT techniques and interventions although I borrow from various other modalities.

I feel I am most successful as your clinician if you tell me what you would like to see shift and change. I want to explore your goals and understand what you are wanting to accomplish during my time as your therapist. I am not everyone's type of therapist and I want to know that you are feeling heard and that the clinical match is meeting your needs.

My communication style

I adjust my communication style to the needs and level of tolerance of each client. I am a curious, clear, and astute listener and communicator. If I do not understand I will ask in a sensitive and direct manner. I constantly check in with clients to ensure I am respecting and honoring their story and their needed pace.
