Hi there, I'm Heather!

I am Heather Hathaway. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with 15 years of experience. Additionally, I hold a doctorate in psychotherapy. My focus is to bring internal relief to the external stimulus.

My approach

I meet my client where they are. I had experience using CBT, DBT, and other approaches, yet my primary focus is on psychoanalytic and Jungian perspective.

My focus

As a mother of four, my specialty is focused on teens and anyone who has ever been one. The teenage experience is difficult for the teen as well as the parents. I also am skilled in working with couples and their communication struggles and individuals who need a safe place to talk.

My communication style

I believe in a relaxed approach, I am here to listen to you and help you recognize your patterns, and help direct a new path. I am casual and easygoing, yet direct in my interventions.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist due to being a single mom and wanting to ensure I handled my own children in a healthy, communicative style. Additionally, having struggled emotionally as a teen, I recognize the need to be available, with positive empathic regard.

My goals for you

I believe that goals need to be self-motivated and will meet you where you are. Some clients prefer to set specific goals others simply need a place to feel heard. I offer both.

My first session with you

During our first session, I will inform you of your right to confidentiality and let you know who I am as a therapist. Our first session is a get-to-know-each-other time. Like a first date, we need to see if we are comfortable with one another.
