My name is Yvette Angelina Arroyo and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Los Angeles, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with young adults and adults and specialize in Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Anger Management, Grief and Loss, Low Self-Esteem, and Addictions. I use a variety of therapeutic methods including but not limited to Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy, with a focus to provide my client's an individualized treatment based on their specific needs.
My approach
My approach to therapy is fundamentally based on building trust, safety, comfort, and a non-judgmental therapeutic environment for my clients. Moreover, my focus is to understand my client's needs and develop a clinical treatment plan, with the clients understanding and commitment to the treatment plan, where I then focus on therapeutic approaches that best fit my client's needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivation Interviewing, and/or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My focus
I am passionate about offering hope, providing support and guidance, and helping increase interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and values that will ultimately lead to a healthier and happier life; I find that my style and approach work well with youth, young adults, and adults. This style and approach further support processing core challenges that cause and/or exacerbate the symptoms associated with trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and grief.
My communication style
My communication style is calm and soothing, accommodating, welcoming, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable in sharing and discussing with me anything in their minds or hearts; I will feel privileged in being allowed to listen to you and help you in regaining a sense of hope for your future. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and am available to provide therapy in both languages.
My journey to therapy
I decided to become a therapist for many reasons. Through my own life journey of healing, learning, and growth, I decided to provide to others the support, guidance, and compassion that I once experienced in my own therapeutic treatment, many years ago. I have also been in the field of helping individuals in need with various life backgrounds since 2003, and I have the desire to continue to be of assistance to those that are seeking to find their true selves.
