My approach
I utilize EMDR, somatic awareness and client-centered therapy to assist clients in reaching their goals.
My focus
I typically work with clients who struggle with PTSD, Substance abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Confidence, and life challenges.
My communication style
I try to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for clients. I try to assist the clients in building insight into self and strengthening their sense of self.
My journey to mental healthcare
Iv known since I was 13 that I wanted to be a therapist and help those who are struggling, whether it is a long term issue or an immediate crisis. When I was younger I had different adversities that I was faced with and I had two people who really stand out and made a major impact in my life, just by there ability to sit with me. I was lucky enough to have an amazing mentor that showed me that one can persevere despite their challenges if they have encouragement, safety and support. Growing up I wanted to pay it forward and provide that to others. I have a major respect for peoples stories and this desire to honor them. I want as many people as possible to have the sense of safety, love, and security within self, as well as the confidence that they can handle life's challenges and still be happy.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with clients. I want the client to feel that we are working as a team to assist them in overcoming whatever challenges they are facing.
My first session with you
During the first couple sessions with me, I work towards building the relationship and safety. I like to understand how the client feels, thinks and processes information. I work on reassuring the client they are safe and their goals are obtainable.
