I'm compassionate and an empathetic listener, and I connect well with clients. I'm interactive with clients but not directive. We will collaborate to explore your reasons for seeking therapy and come up with goals to help facilitate change. Many clients have reported that my approach has been comfortable and made their process easier. My own life path has led to many challenges and much growth, so I "walk the walk, not just talk the talk." Therapy can be hard and challenging, but by being willing to explore and change, amazing things can happen! Areas I work in include Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Self-Criticism, Trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, Addiction and Recovery, Codependency, Adult, Child of Alcoholic, and Life Transitions / Adjustment Disorders.
My approach
My therapeutic style is a client-centered approach that is eclectic and flexible as I use tools from various modalities depending on what is best for the client at the time and their therapy goals. I often use tools/interventions from CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Strength-based, and Positive Psychology. I am also trained in EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy).
My focus
I work with adults (18 years old+) from various cultures. My work includes the areas of Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Self-Criticism, Trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, Addiction, and Recovery, Codependency, Adult children of alcoholics, and Life Transitions / Adjustment Disorders.
