I am a licensed mental health therapist serving in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a wealth of knowledge both as a clinical therapist and also as a coach and counselor.
My approach
My approach combines a variety of theoretical approaches including, but not limited to person-centered and strength-based approaches, while integrating motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, and mindfulness-based counseling.
My focus
Over 20 years of experience in assisting persons with a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, career-related issues, relationship issues, parenting, and marital problems. At the beginning of my private practice venture, I served as an addiction specialist, interventionist, and counselor for about 6.5 years. At that time, I was also the administrator for an adolescent treatment center in Northern California. I have also helped many people going through adversities related to major transitions, adult life goals, social skills, grief and loss, substance abuse, and sex addiction. I have a wealth of knowledge in codependency and attachment theory that have been reported as life challenges liberating for hundreds of people.
My communication style
My counseling style is warm and interactive.
My journey to mental healthcare
It is a true honor to be a part of another person's awakening. My life is so rewarding as I get to support my clients in nurturing their inner light in order to reach deeper cognitive and emotional states of freedom, peace, joy, love, and harmony. We all have gifts to share. I know it is my calling and with great joy and deep gratitude, I dedicate my career to collecting and sharing more gifts with those whom I am given the opportunity to share paths with.
My goals for you
Upon entry and throughout sessions.
My first session with you
Our first session usually is fun where we both provide a little introduction to one another and you get a feel of my skill set combined with my grounded, structured, yet light and loving-hearted way. In the next 2-3 sessions we walk through set an assessment. You will be asked a set of questions that I have categorized into 5 major categories: physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and financial. You can answer to the level of your comfort (mostly briefly on topics) so as to flag areas to return to in future sessions, should you wish. 4th session we co-create 2-3 treatment goals that are a priority for you. All sessions you start with check in where I hold sacred space for you to let it out (any updates from the previous week or anything pressing that you want to share or discuss) and the later part of the session is for completing the assessment, processing support with something you have shared or skill building.
