Hi, I’m Sharma Bennet, MFT#36011, and use a collaborative approach to working with individuals, couples, and families. Areas of focus include building skills for clear communication, emotional growth, and insight.
My approach is supportive and relies on Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, and Cognitive Therapy.
My clients may have issues with anxiety, depression, and mood stability and can be challenged with relationship and career issues.
My communication style
Creating an atmosphere of connection and trust happens over time. Clients need to feel safe, understood and cared for. I do work in a collaborative way, and meet each client where they are in each session.
My journey to therapy
I have always had a curious and somewhat analytical mind. I find connection with others through the work ultimately meaningful and life-affirming.
My goals for you
Often reaching a goal is best served by breaking down actions needed into steps. Focusing on one step at a time will get people where they want to go when they are ready to move forward.
My first session with you
In the initial session, I may ask what is bringing a client into therapy at this time, and what may be some of the challenges they find themselves facing.
