Hi there, I'm Sophia!

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I possess many skills in the areas of assessing, diagnosing, documentation, and establishing treatment plans for each clients’ success. I have the knowledge to perform trauma-focused therapy for foster youth of all ages dealing with physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect. As well as individual, family, and couples therapy for low to high risks levels. I have worked in various counseling and mental health environments from preschool/classroom settings, private practices, marriage counseling/couples counseling, and foster youth (0-18yrs). I have an ability to connect with the clients, teaching staff, and parents in a genuine and professional manner. As a wife and mother , family and community is of importance to me. I remember to always display empathy and compassion for others, as well as being a support system for those in my life. I believe my natural ability to emphasize with others in a non-judgmental way has contributed to excellent clinical judgement with clients. The treatment modalities I use are CBT, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt, and Person-Centered Therapy.
