Hi! My name is Dana Andrews, and I'm a Marriage & Family Therapist provider serving California. The kind of therapy I offer is client-centered and trauma-informed, using holistic, integral, and psycho-somatic approaches. My specialties include working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, complex or relational trauma, work stress, relationship issues, and more.
My approach
The most common approaches I use to therapy are client-centered, holistic, integral, psycho-somatic, depth-oriented, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed. I draw upon Hakomi immersion, transpersonal, and attachment-based theories.
My focus
I most often treat people who suffer from anxiety, relationship stress, work issues, and complex or relational trauma. I treat men and women individually, couples, families, and teens.
My communication style
I aim to create an environment that is warm and safe for clients to open up in at their own unique pace. I am humanistic and relational, compassionate and mindful. I help clients identify patterns of thought and behavior that are inhibiting them and support them in rewriting the narratives or stories to heal the deeper wounds within so they can feel empowered and excited to live life to their fullest potential.
My journey to therapy
I became a therapist because I've always enjoyed hearing people's stories and helping them come to a place of acceptance and empowerment within themselves. I myself came to therapy as a young adult as well, and I have pursued various alternative approaches to healing along my path, which also greatly influenced me in eventually becoming a therapist.
My goals for you
I am collaborative with clients around goals. We will acknowledge together where the client is in the process of meeting their goals and revisit and make changes appropriately when goals are met.
My first session with you
The first session is an opportunity for me to hear more about what is bringing a client into therapy, their family history, and what goals they have for treatment.
