Greetings! I am Jeanne Auerbach, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I enjoy helping people decrease their anxiety and depression, to learn to manage and understand their feelings, communicate their needs and set boundaries and increase their self-compassion allowing them to live fuller happier lives.
My approach
Depending on what is needed I pull interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman concepts as well as supportive and practical interventions. These therapies are proven to be effective means of reducing anxiety and depression while equipping my clients with skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
My focus
I have had lots of success working with adults who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and/or relationship problems to help them to think more accurately, live mindfully and regulate emotions leading to reduced stress and healthier interpersonal relationships.
My communication style
My clients tell me I am easy to talk to and they feel comfortable sharing with me. I think they feel accepted rather than judged. I am genuinely interested and strive to understand their situation, perspective, and past experiences.
My journey to therapy
I enjoy helping people and feel privileged to do so. Throughout my life, I have been in the role of helping friends and colleagues and consider those types of conversations to be the most important and rewarding. I am fascinated by how our minds function and enjoy learning about new discoveries and implementing new techniques. There's always more to learn which I find exciting!
My goals for you
I respect my clients' personal autonomy and competence so we discuss their goals and the treatment plan together. If an area of growth comes up that was not recognized by my client, I will help them to gain a full understanding of that issue so that they can make an informed decision about working on it.
My first session with you
In the first session, I am happy to answer any questions! Then we will briefly discuss the standard forms such as HIPAA and Consent for Treatment. Next, I'd like you to tell me about yourself and what brought you into therapy. I make this easy by using my clinical assessment questions as a guide to gain an understanding of your situation.
