I'm Jessica Balderas, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am beyond passionate about helping people find their ultimate sense of fulfillment and become their best selves. I focus creating on a warm, non-judgmental, genuine vibe in hopes to create a space where clients can let their guard down, be themselves, and start their healing journey.
My approach
I take a real-world, client-centered approach to therapy, combining elements of relational attachment theory, CBT, solution-focused therapy, and art therapy to create a truly unique and transformative experience. With a focus on empathy, self-exploration, and authenticity, we'll create a warm and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and truly understood. Let's work together to tackle life's challenges and find lasting solutions to create real change and impact on your life.
My focus
If you feel you're struggling with areas such as depression, anxiety, life changes, grief, or low self-esteem, I'm here to help. I understand that these struggles can leave you feeling unmotivated and hopeless, but I believe in the power of change and growth. In our sessions, we will navigate these challenges and find the motivation to start moving forward. Together, we'll work towards self-discovery, building resilience, improving self-worth, and getting to the real. You deserve to live a life filled with happiness and fulfillment, and I'm here to help make that a reality.
My communication style
My communication style is direct, compassionate, and non-formal. I always strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients without stuffy or complicated concepts. I believe in actively listening and validating your experiences with everyday talk. I will always approach our sessions with an open mind and a heart full of empathy. You can expect a safe space where you can openly express yourself and feel heard, without fear of judgment. Just showing up to that first session is hard enough. Feel at ease that when we work together, you will direct how much or little you want to share as you strive toward your therapy goals.
My journey to therapy
Growing up, I struggled with anxiety and feeling out of place, and it wasn't until I started that I began my own therapy, I began to understand just how much the mind and body are interconnected. My therapist was a warm, empathetic presence who listened without judgment. Over time, I found myself becoming more confident and self-assured, and I realized that therapy had changed my life in countless positive ways. I later became a licensed therapist, and every day I wake up with a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. It's a privilege to be able to support my clients as they navigate their own challenges and to witness their growth and transformation. It's a heartfelt calling that I am proud to answer and one that I will always carry with me.
My goals for you
My clients are the experts on themselves. As a client, you will determine what you want to get out of our time in therapy together. I am here to help guide and challenge you to work towards these goals. After our first session, we will collaborate together on planning the best way to move forward and achieve what you the client, visualize as healing, growth, and living a better life.
My first session with you
In our first session, I will introduce myself and encourage you to share a little about who you are, and what it is you are seeking in therapy. We will later chat about some goals you'd like to work towards. I am more personable than formal. I love the using humor in sessions, and I hope to introduce a welcoming and comfortable vibe for you to share, what I'm sure has been weighing on you for some time. And I always encourage each client to ask as many questions as they'd like. This is your time, you are free to share as you please!
