People often think about entering therapy because they are ready to make a change. In a nonjudgmental environment, we will explore areas in your life where you want to grow and, over time, develop tools to address the challenges you face and gain a deeper understanding about yourself. I provide a therapeutic environment that is safe and confidential in which we talk about and understand your emotional reactions to life situations that cause you to feel stuck and unhappy. I will work collaboratively with you to identify unproductive ways of coping and help replace them with healthier ones.
My approach
I use a strength-based and client-centered approach to the therapeutic process, incorporating personal strengths and direction from the person receiving support. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Humanistic Therapy when working with clients.
My focus
I have worked with clients who are facing life-changing situations such as divorce, death, anxiety, grief, and terminal illness. Clients range from late teens to geriatrics.
My communication style
A relaxed, supportive environment where the client takes the lead on what areas of their life they would like to explore and receive support.
My journey to therapy
I worked in healthcare for many years, primarily in palliative care and hospice. I had a passion for helping individuals who were struggling with major life changes and eventually worked to become an LCSW so I could work with clients on a one-on-one basis.
My goals for you
Discuss the specific areas the client wants to develop and collaboratively make a plan in achieving the desired goals.
My first session with you
A relaxed first session with clients where they can discuss areas of their life that they feel comfortable in sharing and possibly exploring.
