Hi! My name is Rosario Aceves. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is excited at the opportunity God has given me to help you through Path. I am a Christian and believe without a shadow of a doubt that one of my gifts is to listen and I do so patiently and with love. I find it to be a blessing to encourage and support those who may be facing some of life's most challenging circumstances. My desire is to journey with you through to the path of healing where you will hopefully and prayerfully experience peace and joy. Prayer need not be a part of the therapy and is completely optional, however, know that I do pray for my clients when I'm alone. Also, you need not be a Christian. I am willing and able to help anyone who is interested and in need of someone who truly cares.
My approach
I will join you wherever you are in your journey and help you overcome the thoughts, behavior(s), and overwhelming feelings that are getting in the way of where you want to be.
My focus
I have over 7 years of experience working with teens, adults, and the elderly. The conditions I'm most comfortable treating are the following: depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, parenting, peer relationships, relational issues, grief/loss, and spirituality.
My communication style
I am a very compassionate and empathetic person. I listen intently without being judgmental and create a safe space for you to share whatever you want. I've been told by friends and family members that I'm the only one they can open up about profound issues because they can trust me and know I really care. This is not just a job for me it's my life's purpose.
My journey to therapy
While pursuing a business degree, I had the unique opportunity when I was in college to tutor teenage girls. I was intrigued by how the parent's issues impacted my students and my student's choices truly affected their parents. I soon found myself with an overwhelming desire to understand family dynamics and the psychology of each member of the family unit in order to help their relationship improve. I remember praying intently for them and asking God to help me help them somehow. I empathized greatly with their individual pain, listening and encouraging not only the teens I was tutoring, but their parents as well. It was a blessing to witness how that alone positively impacted the whole family. Not only was I able to help my students succeed in their class, but also the relationship between the parents and my students was made stronger. It blew my mind and touched my heart so much! It was at that point I realized I wanted to be a therapist. I wanted to make a difference in other people's lives. I wanted to come alongside them and be there for them in a special way. I wanted to be there to listen, support, and encourage.
My goals for you
My ultimate goal is to help you and to experience the joy of your betterment in all the areas of your being (emotionally, physically, spiritually, and relationally). How we get there is through working together to set achievable goals all while teaching you some important skills along the way.
My first session with you
At our first session, my hope is to get to know you and how I can help. In addition, I want to be able to answer all the questions you might have to make sure I am what you want/need to help you.
