Hello. Welcome to my page. My name is Liquita Dage. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist based in Orange County, California but I work with clients statewide via Telehealth to meet their needs.
My approach
My approach to therapy is "client-driven." I strive to make sure that during our time together my clients feel that their needs are being met, they feel heard, seen and feel there is an opportunity to experience growth. I often find myself using Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy and sometimes I find myself using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My approach varies based on my client's needs and what's best for their growth.
My focus
I find that my approach works well with clients who are experiencing a wide range of issues that have them feeling "stuck." It can help treat those who are working through depression, stress, anxiety, panic disorders, addictions, interpersonal and familial relationships. Basically, anyone who is looking to navigate these issues to learn new skills about themselves and how to center themselves to seek the growth needed to move through life.
My communication style
My communication style is always client-centered. I allow my clients to find their level of comfort with me so that they are able to be engaged in their own healing. I am personable but also spend a lot of time listening so that my clients feel heard and supported. I want to create a judgment-free zone so that the opportunity is given for my client to feel validated in their thoughts and feelings.
My journey to mental healthcare
Growing up, therapy was never seen as a viable option to assist with problem-solving. In fact, it was looked at as "telling your business." Over the years, I saw the transformations therapists can have on one's life when that individual is dedicated to treatment. I knew that I wanted to assist anyone dedicated to becoming their best selves learn healthy and practical techniques to change their lives for the better. I truly believe we all possess what is needed inside to change our circumstances and I wanted to be in a position to help anyone ready for that change.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is to help clients feel comfortable during our time together so that with my help they are able to navigate through any problems, belief systems, and negative assumptions about themselves that often keep them from becoming who they want to be in life. This approach requires trust of the therapist and confidence on the client's part that they can handle their lives and set healthy goals with my assistance.
My first session with you
Our first time meeting will consist of me getting to know you and answering any questions you have about me. Creating an initial connection.
