I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both California and Utah and have been providing therapy services for 5 years. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I have been trained and certified in trauma treatment, and my other areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, foster care/adoption, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. If you’re struggling to move forward in your life, I can help you with the healing process. I offer both Christian-based and secular therapy.
My approach
I am an eclectic therapist and pull from many different modalities based on my client's individual needs. I lean heavily on cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment, and positive psychology therapy approaches. I begin by working with you to build a healthy therapeutic relationship, as that is key to any effective treatment. My goal is to support and aid you in reaching your mental health goals.
My focus
I enjoy working with clients of all ages, especially those who are struggling to recover from traumatic experiences or dealing with anxiety, depression, or faith struggles and transitions.
My communication style
I engage my clients through active listening and open-ended questions, encouraging reflection.
My journey to therapy
I was drawn to therapy as a career when I began receiving my own therapy after experiencing interpersonal trauma. I have received training in trauma-focused therapy and am certified as a clinical trauma treatment provider. I have also received training in working with foster youth and families and specific modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion-focused therapy, as well as treating self-harm and crisis management.
My goals for you
Increased insight and self-awareness, achieving goals, reducing symptoms, and developing a healthy therapeutic relationship are all signs of success and progress in therapy.
My first session with you
Your first session will be an overall assessment. I will ask you questions about your symptoms, history, health, relationships, and any other factors that may have a bearing on your mental health and what brings you to seek therapy. We will also work on building a treatment plan to guide your therapy services.
