Hi! I am Nastaran Rad, Psy.D. (27113). My work in therapy integrates from Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions. I focus on helping the client feel at ease to express their emotions in a non-judgmental space whilst addressing ways to alleviate their emotional discomfort.
My approach
My work in therapy integrates from Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques and approach therapy with clients from a holistic and humanistic stance.
My focus
My experience is broad but I enjoy working with clients who want to address and work on their anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, chronic illness, life transition stressors, relational stressors, women's issues, stressors within the LGBTQIA community, and the young adult population.
My communication style
In session, the environment is nonjudgmental, safe, and a warm atmosphere to explore thoughts, feelings, and stressors. Together, we build on our rapport and create a space for you to be able to communicate your thoughts and feel heard.
My journey to therapy
I have always been interested in how people think and feel. From an early age, I was intuned with emotions. I am a firm believer in expressing your emotions and not holding on to unwanted feelings, thoughts, and harboring negativity. I am driven by change and seeing my clients understand themselves. I look forward to working with you!
My goals for you
Goal setting is initiated during the intake session. Together, we will explore realistic goals and outcomes for therapy. During the therapeutic process, we can revisit the goals and address them as needed. It is important to have some goals in mind for therapy and I encourage my clients to have some therapy goals in mind.
My first session with you
During the first session, I like to start by introducing myself, addressing all the necessary paperwork details, and then moving on to the intake. In the first session (intake) you can expect to share background history, family history, relationship history, etc. During this time, we can explore goals and get a complete history of you. At the end of the intake, we will address your therapy needs and address further sessions.
