Hello, My Name is Jessica Baity and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a very peaceful approach to therapy and believe it is important to meet every client where they are at. I work a great deal with those who struggle with cultural adversities, Anxiety, and depression.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is more of a narrative base approach. Therapy should be client lead and meeting clients where they are at. I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Approach ( CBT) And Client Center.
My focus
Client focus is on those who may struggle with working through Anxiety and depression. Also, those individuals who struggle with cultural adversities, trauma and are seeking ways a safe space to cope with life's challenges.
My communication style
I strive to create a safe space for the client to share their stories. I lead with unconditional positive regard for all clients. I strive to have a relaxed, safe, nonjudgmental space for all clients to feel comfortable to be authentically themselves and share at their own pace.
My journey to therapy
I grew up in an African American household where mental health was often not talked about or discussed. I had a grandmother who lived with me in the home who struggled with server mental illness, and it was not talked about. I knew my grandmother was different than my friend's grandmother but didn't understand why. As I grew up I faced my own trauma and adversities, and I knew I wanted to make a difference. The drive in me to normalize working on your mental health, to give hope, and help people through some of the hardest times.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting very openly and honestly. Working with clients in setting realistic goals to meet their needs.
My first session with you
Clients should expect to come into a welcoming environment to be able to share their stories. Using the first session to get to know the client and for the client to be able to ask any questions they may have.
