Hello! My name is Melissa Alexander and I am an LMFT and a Registered Art Therapist. I believe in a client-centered approach, as well as using some creativity in sessions!
My approach
I use a mixture of CBT and narrative therapy, along with solution-focused aspects. I like to embody these theories through the use of Art Therapy.
My focus
I typically work with adolescents and young adults that are going through stages of life struggles, dealing with depression or with anxiety. I also have some experience working with disordered eating and grief.
My communication style
I strive to create a calm and peaceful environment for my clients. My hope is that my clients feel comfortable and able to share without worry of judgment.
My journey to therapy
I love working in this field. Therapy was such an important resource in my life, and I felt a calling to be able to offer that to others. I have also seen the healing work that art can bring, so I enjoy being able to offer that in my sessions.

I work hand in hand with clients to develop and set goals for treatment.
My first session with you
For the first session with me, clients should expect to go over legal and ethical protocol, as well as answer questions to the client's comfort level. I really just want to get a sense of how we might work together.
