Hello, my name is Randall Baird, and I am a licensed marriage family therapist. My primary specialty is trauma; however, I also work with individuals addressing various mood disorders and life struggles.
My approach
I am compassionate and caring, and I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy coupled with solution-focused therapy to help my clients achieve the desired outcome in therapy.
My focus
I have a fairly extensive background working with individuals who suffer from some form of trauma in their background. I also work with individuals trying to address relationship issues, both familial and intimate.
My communication style
I use a softer tone with a calming environment to help my clients feel more at ease in therapy, and more willing to open up and explore their presenting issue(s). My clients have informed me that I am easy to talk too and able to put them at ease without feeling judged in therapy.
My journey to therapy
I was interested in psychology going back to my high school years when I studied sociology and psychology in my junior and senior years of high school. I have always enjoyed helping people because each individual is unique and presents a unique challenge.
My goals for you
When a client first seeks treatment with me, I try to find out what the client's ultimate goal is for therapy, and then create goals that the client has predetermined before entering therapy.
My first session with you
During our first session, I use the time as a "get to know you" which allows me to gather valuable information that could help in determining goals for the individual.
