Hi there, I'm Neda!

My name is Neda G Rivera; I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. We all can suffer from trauma, stress, loss, pain, relationships, and work issues. Sometimes, it is very difficult to ask for help. Seeking counseling does not mean that there is something wrong with us. Seeking counseling helps us to process those feelings and manage symptoms. I do not label my clients. I am more interested in guiding my clients and helping them during that process. Helping you during those difficult times to manage and cope are my top priorities.

My approach

I am skilled in a range of therapeutic techniques. I practice Solutions Focused, DBT, ACT, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, and Client Center. I am able to connect with my clients and provide them with an emotionally safe place to process feelings and emotions. I believe that we are all unique and different.

My focus

I work with all clients and from different cultural backgrounds. Conditions: Anxiety Depression Stress Substance Use ADHD Bipolar Disorder Family Conflict Grief Personality Disorders Self-Harming Trauma and PTSD Women's Issues Refugees' issues

My communication style

I strive to create a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental tone for my sessions with my clients. My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to discuss their concerns, ask questions, and seek guidance. Working with me often feels like having a conversation with an understanding and validating therapist. I aim to listen actively and attentively, responding with thoughtful insights and suggestions. I adapt to each client's unique communication style and needs, providing information, perspective, and encouragement as needed.

My journey to mental healthcare

My compassion to help others by making a positive impact on their life and my fascination with human behavior and the intricacies of the mind motivated me to pursue my second master's in Counseling Psychology to gain a deeper understanding of these aspects and apply that knowledge to help others.

My goals for you

Together with the client, we would identify specific and achievable goals they'd like to work towards. These goals could be related to emotional well-being, personal growth, relationships, coping strategies, or any other relevant areas.

My first session with you

During the first counseling session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment that prioritizes their comfort and well-being. We will explore concerns, work on building rapport, and establish goals.
