My name is Jorge J. Alvarez and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Licensed Educational Psychologist. I enjoy working with a wide range of people who are interested in improving their lives through in-depth exploration of emotions and behaviors which impact personal, social, occupational, and family relationships.

My name is Jorge J. Alvarez and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Licensed Educational Psychologist. I enjoy working with a wide range of people using psychoanalytic constructs as well as easy-to-follow cognitive behavioral techniques.
My focus
As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I enjoy working with individuals suffering from trauma, anxiety, and depression. I also enjoy helping individuals meet goals through increased focus, motivation, and empowerment.
My communication style
I consider myself to be very empathic and utilize a communication style sensitive to the needs and emotions of clients.
My journey to therapy
I believe all individuals are valuable and have a story to share. I find working with individuals in therapy is a privilege and passion which I approach with great respect, sensitivity, and responsibility.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is initially to identify, explore, and resolve underlying issues which often disrupt goals and success. Once those underlying issues are addressed, goals are clearly defined and focus is shifted to improving motivation, skill development, building positive habits, and evaluation.
My first session with you
During the first session, the client should expect the opportunity to speak honestly in a non-judgmental environment while building therapeutic rapport essential to the counseling and psychotherapy process.
