Tired of talking about your problems? Feeling frustrated and stuck? My name is Danielle and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who believes that our past experiences contribute to our present circumstances. I specialize in supporting women who are struggling to manage anxiety, panic, low self-esteem, depression, PTSD, and/or a pattern of unhealthy relationships. Although it can be therapeutic to talk about our problems, I believe that we need to feel our emotions in order to heal. I use Brainspotting and other holistic modalities to support you in healing emotional stress/trauma.
My approach
I approach therapy with an open mind and heart, providing a safe space to address your concerns without shame or judgment. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and my role is to support and guide you toward healing whatever is keeping you stuck. I come from an attachment-based perspective, which means that the emotional bonds that we do- or don't- form in childhood can significantly impact our self-worth, ability to feel connected to others, engage in healthy relationships, and thrive in the world. My approach is integrative and holistic, as the health of our mind, body and spirit are interconnected. I use a method called Brainspotting (and other healing modalities such as mindfulness and meditation) to support you in understanding, processing, and healing your past so that you can move forward in life with more balance and peace. *Brainspotting helps to identify and heal stress/trauma that contributes to a variety of emotional and somatic conditions. Brainspotting allows us to access and process stored stress/trauma in the subcortical brain (a part of the brain we cannot access by talking) which can lead to faster healing.*
My focus
My client population is women who: -feel that their anxiety, panic, depression, or PTSD is holding them back. -are constantly attracting unavailable partners or engaging in unhealthy relationships. -have been in talk therapy before and feel that traditional methods have not worked. -coping tools are no longer working -are looking to heal the root cause of their problems. -are ready to heal the past in order to achieve peace.
My communication style
I am an attentive listener with deep empathy and a friendly demeanor. I seek to provide a sense of safety and acceptance to everyone without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
My own healing journey drew me into the therapy field. My inability to understand and process my past trauma was perpetuating my own anxiety and depression, keeping me stuck in unhealthy relationships and holding me back from experiencing happiness. Throughout my healing journey, I have gained valuable experience and insight that helps me to be effective in working with those suffering from stress/trauma.
My goals for you
The definition of success varies from person to person. I consider therapy to be successful when old triggers no longer lead to such intense emotional responses. When someone feels a more consistent sense of balance and peace in their life.
