Hi there, I'm Kere!

Kere has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2016. Kere is also a Clinical Director of an Outpatient Mental Health Treatment Center. Kere is passionate about health and also enjoys spending her free time teaching fitness and dance classes. Growing up in Virginia, Kere was frustrated by the disconnect she saw between physical and mental health. Kere began to study and explore the role that exercises, movement and mental health therapy had on her overall health as well as those around her. She moved to California with the dream of becoming a therapist and helping individuals through a more holistic approach to mental health. Kere attended the University of Miami, FL for undergraduate and California State University, Dominguez Hills for graduate school where she focused her clinical research experience on the study of mental health as it relates to physical health through Psycho-immuneurology. She also began studying dance movement therapy. Her passion for dance movement therapy led her to international work in Ghana, Africa where she did HIV prevention and outreach through cultural dance with the Sankofa Center. Kere’s passion for helping others led her to work in community mental health and substance abuse treatment. This experience has allowed her to hone in on her clinical expertise regarding the mind-body connection as well as gain a better understanding of the impact that trauma has on mental health and behavior. Kere values holistic treatment in which clients are approached through a mind-body-informed perspective. In addition to working as a private practice therapist, Kere is a Clinical Director of an Outpatient Mental Health program. Kere has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Motivational Interviewing, and movement therapy. Kere is experienced in working with people dealing with trauma, depression, substance abuse, anxiety, relationship issues, and major life stressors.
