Not currently accepting patients

Hi there, I'm Stephanie!

Hi, my name is Stephanie Adams! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been in this field for 5 years. I have worked with young and older adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, and loneliness, using Cognitive Behavorial Therapy, and Strength-Based Practices, and Psychodynamic Therapy to help my clients start making positive changes and feeling better about themselves.

My approach

My approach to therapy is meeting the client where they are. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based Practices, and Psychodynamic Therapy, as evidence-based tools to help me and the client build a shared understanding of their point of view, and how we can work together towards emotionally healthy healing and performance.

My focus

I have found that my style and approach are suitable for early or middle-aged adults who are dealing with complex issues, and relationships or going through stressful life-changing events. This often manifests in isolation, stress, anxiety, and depression. I work with my clients to build up their confidence and develop a more positive outlook on life.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, thorough, transparent, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable when talking with me about anything, and I hold true to my ability to listen without judgment.

My journey to therapy

I decided to become a therapist because I have found that talking and problem-solving with a trusted person about my struggles and challenges made a positive impact on my own life. I have always admired listening to people's testimonies about how that 'one person' made a difference in their life. I hope to be that person who helps somebody make great changes.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting with clients is based on working together on a problem you want to solve or see change in our time together. I believe this starts by building trust between us and getting comfortable with each other in therapy. We will track your progress and set new goals over time in therapy together.

My first session with you

What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend time talking about how you have been feeling, and how this has affected you lately, and for me to ask questions to better understand why you are feeling this way and listening. The first session is about building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of what is important to you and where you would like to go from there. I treat everyone as an individual, I like to listen and ask questions to help me know what will work best for you in our therapy sessions together.
