Hi there, my name is YoungEun. I am happy that you are here. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I provide online therapy and coaching in Korean and English. I help my clients to find a better way to deal with anxiety, depression, burnout, and identity crisis by navigating their pain points and strengths in a safe space.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is mindfulness-based humanistic psychology with an existential frame of reference. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and personal resources to help you to explore intrapersonal and interpersonal distress. I also encourage the awareness of cultural diversity and honoring differences.
My focus
If you can’t sleep because of the questions of “what if,” if you feel your personal growth has stopped for a while, or if you don’t feel fully understood because of some of your special history, I am here to sit down with you and listen to your story.
My communication style
I appreciate building a genuine therapeutic relationship in which one can cultivate gratitude and mutual respect. To this therapy space, you can bring any topics or questions that make you feel heavy. There is no rule and no direction. We will find the underlying pain while talking about your daily life incidents.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been wondering what things define who I am. Is it nature or nurture? If I had a different experience in my childhood, would I have had a different life? These questions lead me to the next question, which is if I can change something small now, then can I have a better life tomorrow? I wanted to practice this journey with other people and that is how I ended up being a therapist. I hope you join me on this special journey toward a better version of you.
My goals for you
Goal setting is an important part of therapy. Sometimes goals can be more than just removing the pain. I encourage my clients to find out what is really important for their growth and life success. You can thrive even if life is not perfect.
My first session with you
In the first session, we will discuss the therapy process and review your reason for seeking a therapist. I will actively listen to your current issues and what you would like to get out of therapy.
