Hi there, I'm Victoria!

My name is Tori, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I approach therapy from an integrative perspective with an emphasis on Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Processing Theory, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts and Mindfulness Techniques, and some Feminist Theories as well. I have a Holistic and collaborative approach to therapy. I believe the you are the expert of your own experience, and my job is never to tell you what to do but instead to support you along your healing journey, process what comes up on the path to healing, and empower you in your continued growth.

My approach

I have a Holistic and collaborative approach to therapy. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience, and my job is never to tell you what to do but instead to support you along your healing journey, process what comes up on the path to healing, and empower you in your continued growth.

My focus

I prefer to work with adults. I have experience with depression, anxiety, BIPOC, relationship issues, self-care, body positivity, LGBTQ+ affirming care, trauma, self-esteem, processing the impacts of systemic oppression and capitalism, grief, and much more.

My communication style

To me, it is essential to create a safe, judgement-free, supportive, empathetic, inclusive, warm, and empowering environment for my clients. The best analogy I can use to describe what it feels like working with me therapeutically is: Imagine we are in a car. You are driving, and I am in the passenger seat. Along the path, you decide where we go and which turns we make. I may make an observation or shed some light on a caution sign you might have missed previously, but no matter what turns you take, I am right there with you supporting you on this journey. We may encounter some rough terrain, but you will not have to manage it alone.

My journey to mental healthcare

I always new I wanted to be in the helping field. My mission in life has always been to positively impact the lives of others. When it came time to decide on a career path, this made the most sense for me because my whole life, I naturally found myself in the role of providing emotional support for friends, family, and even strangers.

My goals for you

We set expectations and goals for therapy in the first two sessions. As we continue and adjust over time, we will revisit the goals as needed along the way to make any necessary changes.

My first session with you

First session is much more structured than most of our sessions will be because we will be reviewing informed consent, completing intake information, creating goals for therapy, and discussing your previous experiences in therapy so I can have a clear understanding of what you valued from that experience and what didn't work for you.
