My name is Adriane Alexander, and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I would describe my approach to therapy as relatable and genuine. My focus areas for therapy include depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and other everyday problems that clients may have.
My approach
My approach to providing therapy is to make sure that my clients feel safe. I believe that what we need is "already in us." Sometimes we just need a listening ear and support to bring it out of us.
My focus
I typically work with clients who have a variety of issues. I am comfortable treating clients that are dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, relationship issues, workplace stress, and women's issues.
My communication style
I can not stress enough how important it is for clients to feel safe during our sessions. I want clients to feel that they can trust me. I have been told by clients that they appreciate that our sessions are a "judgment-free" zone.
My journey to therapy
I have always known that I wanted to work with people. Over the past 10 years, I have worked in various settings, providing mental health and support services to people dealing with a host of concerns. The fact that I can help someone navigate their journey through life is what drives me to do this work.
My goals for you
I like to use a realistic approach towards setting goals with clients. Goals can always be revisited and changed if necessary.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients can expect to be given a safe place to talk about what brought them to therapy. They can also use this session and any other session to ask any questions that they may have. I also like to give clients an overview of what to expect during sessions.
