Hello, my name is Carrie L. Ryberg, MA, LCPC, NCC. I've been practicing counseling for 13 years. Clients come to counseling looking for help with the things that are happening in their lives. I work to help them find Hope, Healing, Empowerment, and Enrichment in their lives.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is to listen and understand your needs. Then, I will work with using an approach that would best help you with your needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Techniques, and Solution Focus.
My focus
Typically, I work with clients that have anxiety, depression, or previous trauma.
My communication style
My tone is to provide a safe/secure environment to provide support in a non-judgmental way.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always recognized that counseling and human behavior were intriguing to me. It is a pleasure to be a part of the process of seeing others heal. When I was in school or when I worked in the financial industry as a young adult, I found myself counseling others and helping them through their struggles. When I was 28 years old, I went back to school to become a counselor since it really seemed like this was my calling in life. So here I am today, working in mental health for over 15 years.
My goals for you
Typically, goal setting is done by clients providing to me with what is happening in their life and what areas they feel need the most support. From there, we will discuss treatment to help them to achieve their goals.
My first session with you
In the first session, we will take 5-10 minutes to discuss the counseling process, confidentiality, and what to expect from counseling. The rest of the session will be focused on what is bringing you to counseling. It may take a session or two to get to know each other.
