My name is Amber Berridge and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I love helping adolescents and young adults successfully navigate life's ups and downs! My focus areas include depression, anxiety, school and work stress, and other mental health concerns.
My approach
My professional experience includes using CBT, DBT, strengths-based, and mindfulness. I like to teach my clients new skills or help them to improve on ones they may have learned in the past.
My focus
My focus areas of practice are males or females between the ages of 14 and 25, struggling with depression, anxiety, school concerns, and stress.
My communication style
I strive to create a space that is comfortable and empowering. I want my clients to feel as if they are talking to a "professional friend."
My journey to therapy
I decided to become a social worker because I love to listen and help people find the tools that they need to improve their lives and feel better. I truly believe change is possible and that you can achieve your goals, and I will work as hard as I can to help you along the way. I know that reaching out for help when you are struggling with distressing emotions or challenging life transitions can be difficult. I have tools that I would like to share with you to help you find your pathway to joy!
My goals for you
I like to get to know my clients and what they are looking for when it comes to therapy. Together we can come up with goals that we can work on during our time together, and when those original goals are achieved, we can always establish new ones! I like to help my clients set and achieve their goals through weekly or biweekly check-ins, skills practice, and homework assignments.
My first session with you
Our first session will most likely be similar to an interview, but much less stressful! I will be asking questions to get to know you and your background, and I hope you will have questions for me as well! I want you to be comfortable during our sessions and have an understanding of my approaches and how I can help!
