Meg Nisbet, MA, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) #6401222994, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP)
My approach
I have experience with Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Post Traumatic Growth therapy. I integrate mind/body practices such as breathwork, grounding, and empowerment in working with clients.
My focus
I am comfortable working with a wide variety of people including men, women, LGBTQ+, Trans, ACE/Polyamory/kink, and those who feel they don't fit into most categories. I am comfortable working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, grief, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence and child abuse.
My communication style
I work to develop a trusting relationship that feels safe to say whatever is happening without fear of judgment or shaming. Also, there needs to be a bit of light hearted time within sessions, if possible.
My journey to mental healthcare
It is what I was created to do and learning tools and new tools and new research drives me to find what will be helpful for clients to reach their goals. I continually strive to bring as much hope through education for each client as I can find so that each client feels they are gaining more control over their lives.
My goals for you
Therapy belongs to the person who comes in and helping a client set a goal that is specific, measurable and achievable is so important.
My first session with you
Intake can be daunting for many, so the first session is narrative that helps paint a picture of why the client is seeking therapy.
