Peace! My name is Krystal Miller, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who approaches therapy from an integrative lens. Using this form of mind-body-spirit-and culture work means that the whole of you is just as important on this therapeutic journey as your mind alone.
My approach
I am certified in Integrative Mental Health and yoga and trained as a spiritual herbalist as well as a trauma-conscious yoga facilitator. This background provides me with a host of tools to support to all parts of you, down to the most precious part of you hiding behind your mask.
My focus
My client focus centers on Black and Brown women currently facing life transitions (life's biggest stressors such as relationships, grief, or settling into a newer version of yourself), race/gender-based trauma and stress, and general anxiety in day to day life. But most importantly, my work is for clients who are ready to move from just talking about their life to truly being present in it.
My communication style
I strive to create a welcoming, familiar, and calming environment for my clients. Our sessions are more conversational, with a sprinkle of educational insight. Bring your whole self--I'm all ears.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to being a therapist started with my love of my community and my own personal healing journey. As an avid reader growing up, I knew the value of a person's story, including their climax and resolution. We all go through these ups and downs. So with my understanding of the world around me, the intersections of identities, the history of social injustice within our society, and the ultimate power of release increasing in each chapter of my own life, so did the calling to step into my purpose of healing. It's what keeps me grounded with each client.
My goals for you
I work with my clients in setting goals that feel right and purposeful to them. We'll start with the bigger desired feeling and break it down into more manageable pieces.
My first session with you
Our first session(s) is all about your background story. How did we even get here? What were your turning points? What are your strengths? All of the above and more!
