Allison Campbell, Licensed Certified Social Worker: I am a social worker with over 30 years of clinical experience in treating behavioral health disorders. In everyone's life, we all have challenges and experiences that result in the need to understand that we cannot change everything that happens to us. However, we can change how we react to such challenges and reexamine our values to move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
My approach
I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Treatment to: Understand that despite hardship and what has happened in your life, there is a core you that is steadfast, strong, and unbroken and that you can learn to react to these experiences differently. I will help you examine what you want your life to be about and move toward these values toward a more satisfying life.
My focus
I have over 30 years of experience with clients along the life trajectory. My specialties are working with life transitions and the aging adult.
My communication style
I use a calm environment to help you feel safe and to allow you to identify your direction and ways that you can work to move in that direction.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have worked in the field of behavioral health for over 30 years. I continue to work with clients to understand that despite adversity and trauma in our lives, we can all change how we react to negative experiences. We can do this as we all have an unbroken core self that can help us to identify clearly our values. Through identification of and movement toward these values, we can become more resilient and happier in life.
My goals for you
I work with my clients to identify their values and set goals to help them move in the direction of these values.
My first session with you
In the first session, I will introduce the therapeutic approach with my client, help my client to learn ways to begin to change how they manage negative thoughts and experiences and move toward the identification of values.
