I'm Megan Richardson, LMHC. My approach to therapy is solution-focused and evidence-based. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them rediscover their strength and resiliency. Areas of focus include: helping adults navigate life transitions, relationship conflict, stress management, low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.
My approach
My approach can be eclectic & collaborative because I like to pull from various approaches to support and guide my client to assure their needs are best matched. I do favor DBT, CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.
My focus
I work with adults, but have and will see older teenagers. I support individuals, couples, and families experiencing a transition (which includes attending college), emotion dysregulation, difficulty coping with stress, anxiety, and/or depression.
My communication style
I pride myself on creating a warm, relatable, yet supportive, and direct environment and rapport with my clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was always drawn to helping people and I found I was that person that people always confided in. Becoming a therapist has always been the career I considered since I was in high school. What drives me to do this work is being able to support individuals to help them rediscover their potential and start living a life that feels most comfortable for them. It is so rewarding to see my clients make progress and to be able to cheerlead them on.
My goals for you
Goals are essential to our work together. Together we identify areas of improvement as well as desired outcomes to help guide our work together.
