Hi, I'm Angelina! My name is Angelina DeLong, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in West Reading, Pennsylvania. I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, stress, and communication skills. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Approach to help clients make change and begin feeling better.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies based on each client. I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Person Centered to help understand clients' thoughts and beliefs moving forward. By doing so we can work together to find changes to make to help you feel better each day.
My focus
I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with various seasons of their lives from parenting, life transitions, and relationship struggles. Learning to communicate with friends, family, parents, and partners as well as understanding boundaries are some things I find my clients struggle with; which can create anxiety among other things. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.
My communication style
I'm a 'come as you are' type of person. My communication style is very relaxed and personable. I allow space for clients to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts with me with no judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because aside from wanting to help people I wanted to understand the brain and how people work. I am a natural empath and enjoy helping people evolve into the best person they can be.
My goals for you
Together we will set goals and check in on how they are going. We will work together on what is working and what you feel is not. It's okay if we try something or a suggestion is made and you don't like it! We will approach that together so you feel comfortable about what goals we are setting.
My first session with you
During our first session together we will explore how you are feeling in recent days as well as how you may cope with those feelings. I will ask questions as necessary to help me understand you and your situation better. Every client is different so we will work towards helping me understand your situation best before moving forward together.
