My name is Jennifer Lake, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. My role as a therapist is to help you better understand your needs and strengths and develop goals and strategies to live a fulfilling life.
My approach
I bring authenticity, fun, energy, and empathy to the therapeutic relationship and will nonjudgmentally hold space for whatever you need. The commonly used approach is client-centered. Together, we will be curious and compassionate and use therapy techniques that feel safe for you to bravely navigate past wounds and promote inner healing.
My focus
My goal is to provide a warm and non-judgmental environment to explore your concerns and feel understood. You will find I am genuine, encouraging, and motivated to help by providing support, validation, psychoeducation, and skills. I have over ten years of experience helping adults with anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, stress management, and low self-esteem. Together, we will develop a curiosity about how to effectively make positive changes to assist you in decreasing your current distress and living a more fulfilling life.
My communication style
I feel a tremendous sense of gratitude toward clients who show vulnerability and allow me to be a part of their growth and healing. I am genuine in my approach and feel that the interpersonal connection between a therapist and client is important to the process.
