Hi, my name is Lori Bachman and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have over twenty years of experience delivering counseling services to people seeking support and guidance through difficult times in their lives.
My approach
I utilize a variety of theoretic styles that best suit a person individually. Using a client-centered approach, I combine a soft and direct approach and use models such as trauma informed somatic experience, rational emotive, cognitive and dialectical therapies to explore the past and present to aid in the development of coping skills to improve one's emotional and overall wellbeing.
My focus
I have years of experience with working with adult clients that suffer with anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, addiction/codependency.
My communication style
I have an open, non- critical style that allows the client's the freedom to guide the pace of each session.
My journey to therapy
My goal to becoming a therapist started as a child when I was curious about why people thought, felt and acted differently. As I grew, so did my curiosity and through managing my own life traumas, I realized with appropriate training that I could help others piece together skills that decreased suffering and improved overall personal and relational health.
My goals for you
I develop a treatment plan with the client and use the client's own words to describe their treatment needs to formulate collaborated goals with specific interventions and proposed outcome measures.
My first session with you
The first session with focus on getting to know each other, obtain a bio-psychosocial from the client and answer any relevant questions that the client has about me. We start setting a tone for therapy engagement, schedule and treatment goals.
