Welcome! I am Tiffany Belfrom, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Board Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Holistic Mindset Coach based in Houston, Texas. I provide services to a diverse population of adults across the state of Texas via telehealth. I specialize in emotional regulation, impulse control, identity development, habit/routine formation, and Imposter Syndrome reduction through individualized integration of treatment modalities, including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Assertiveness Training.
My approach
I believe therapy is a collaborative effort that is about exploring what works for you and not adhering to a one-size-fits-all approach. As such, this exploration may include both a holistic approach and the use of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Assertiveness Training to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My focus
My aligned client is a high-performing professional seeking a deeper level of self-awareness, personal and career growth, and a desire to overcome limiting beliefs leading to imposter syndrome through cognitive and somatic practices.
My communication style
As an intuitive person, my communication style is warm and inviting. I create a safe virtual space for my clients to be their true authentic selves free from judgment. I leave room for my clients to pause, reflect, and connect with their thoughts and emotions. I am supportive and affirming while also challenging clients to adopt a posture of self-accountability in a non-judgmental manner.
My journey to therapy
I decided to become a Therapist because representation matters. I found it difficult as a therapy seeker to fully express myself and be understood by the clinicians available to me. I spent a lot of time explaining and listening to attempts to relate to me. I knew if I was having that experience, others were, and it became important for me to create safe spaces for therapy seekers, as well as dispelling myths about psychotherapy and the populations therapy is and is not "for."
My goals for you
During the first appointment as a new client, we will discuss your therapeutic goals, life goals, and any current difficulties in daily functioning. I will summarize these with you and discuss the potential treatment plan and interventions to be used. With your agreement, these details will then be used in the development of your treatment plan and the primary focus of our work together. Goals can be modified at any point during the course of our time working together.
My first session with you
The first appointment session with me will be focused on getting to know you as a person and assessing the circumstances bringing you to therapy at this time. I like to complete a thorough Biopsychosocial Assessment, which examines you as a whole person. We will evaluate the appropriateness of telehealth, client/clinician alignment, develop a tentative treatment plan, and discuss any referrals to other service providers as needed.
