I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Certified Addiction Specialist who has been practicing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for over 20 years with individuals, couples, youth, and families.
My approach
Elevate mood, reduce anxiety and improve overall functioning by increasing coping skills using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) interventions.
My focus
My areas of focus include couples counseling and addictions. I also have over 25 years of experience working with individuals who are experiencing emotional or behavioral issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma, as well as military and LGBTQI+ issues.
My communication style
I use verbal and non-verbal methods to help you overcome emotional or psychological distress. My style is interactive and challenging yet positive and compassionate.
My journey to therapy
I received my Master's degree in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach, and my Bachelor's degree in Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia.
My goals for you
I will help you create new ways of thinking to improve your mood, relationships, and life circumstances.
My first session with you
In the first session, I will try to get an understanding of the situation that brought you to therapy, including current symptoms and relevant historical information. I will give you some tangible exercises or information at the end of the session that you can practice or use.
