Allison Biles, MS, LPC I use approaches to helping including client-centered, CBT, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and solution-focused and have experience in supporting clients struggling with anxiety, depression, life/role changes, grief/loss, work stress, relationship conflict, self-esteem, body image issues, and past trauma.
My approach
I will provide a safe space with unconditional positive regard, compassion and patience so that we can begin a collaborative journey towards improving your quality of living and you feeling more fulfilled in all the roles you play. I use a variety of approaches to counseling including client-centered, CBT, and mindfulness and will customize a plan of treatment that meets your unique needs and goals.
My focus
Are you struggling with loneliness, apathy, or a lack of motivation? Have you encountered recent life changes or are you lacking meaning in daily life? I can help with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, enhancing self-esteem and self-worth, work stress, grief/loss, relationship conflict, and processing past trauma.
My communication style
Using a client-centered approach to helping, I will meet you where you are at regarding needs whether it be validation and empathic listening, seeking solutions to an acute problem, or adjusting to an unexpected life change.
My journey to therapy
Prior to becoming a licensed therapist in TX, I taught Kindergarten for nine years in the public school system and longed to continue helping others on a smaller scale. I too have struggled with finding my place in this vast world and truly understand the importance of having an empathic ally who is consistently warm, accepting, and free of judgment.
My goals for you
You as the client have agency and ownership in this collaborative process. Upon first meeting, treatment goals will be established and continually evaluated and/or modified by both yourself as well as I.
My first session with you
The intake session can often look and feel much different than the subsequent sessions. Consider it more of a Q&A appointment while the sessions that follow, look and feel much more like a naturally flowing conversation between two people working towards common goals.
