Hi there, I'm Dr. Jonathan M.!

Hello & Welcome! I'm Dr. Jack Honeycutt, a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (Utah & Idaho). I am a holistic practitioner with training in clinical neurostimulation. I practiced as a clinical psychologist in Australia, and have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years. I completed internships at the Veterans Medical Center (Tucson, AZ) and the University of Arizona Health Sciences Medical Center. I am the inventor of COOLSTIM® and AcuStim.

My approach

Many people seek therapy to relieve STRESS-Symptoms like Anxiety, Depression, OCD, ADD, Panic, Addiction, Sexual issues, Insomnia, Relationship Stress & Breakup, to name a few. STRESS can drain our energy and optimism, and erode our self-confidence, and make us feel sick, injured, under attack, and alien to ourselves and others. People often say, "Oh, it's just Stress." That's like saying, "Oh, it's just a shark," when one has your arm or leg in its mouth. STRESS is now a medically recognized CAUSE, contributor and accelerator of many serious and potentially fatal human diseases, from rheumatoid diseases (arthritis and lupus), to heart disease and cancer, from depression and addiction to diseases of aging. STRESS turns on Inflammation which can cause, intensify, accelerate and prolong hundreds of diseases, from psychological syndromes and brain disorders to heart disease and cancer. MIND-BODY Medicine starts with determining the source of Stress symptoms, which can be caused by medical or nutritional conditions within the body. For example, we may look at biomarkers of inflammation (because Stress causes and can be caused by inflammation). Vitamin levels may affect neurotransmitters that cause depression, etc. As a HOLISTIC Practitioner, I specialize in STRESS-Recovery using proven Mind-Body Therapies to stimulate your body's natural healing without drugs. LEGAL SYSTEM STRESS: I also specialize in assisting those involved in Legal proceedings, Disputes or Courtroom Trials, including Victims, Witnesses and anyone who may be called to testify on the Witness Stand. FIRST-RESPONDERS, VETERANS & DISASTER-SURVIVORS: As a former ER clinician, I have personally seen and cared for hundreds of trauma victims, from vehicular and industrial accidents, to shootings, drownings, and poisoning. First Responders are essential to our survival. Consequently, I give full priority to our protectors and rescuers and the victims of disasters, from mass shootings and hurricanes, to Pandemic Fatalities and Iatrogenic injuries.

My focus

Many of my clients and patients are men and women aged 15 to 80, although most are between 21 and 65. Most express a strong desire to move forward with their lives and break free from the Stress Cycles that keep feeding, flaring and intensifying their symptoms. I work best with patients who understand healing is a partnership and they have an active role to play. Healing is energetic, planned, crafted, constructed, and coordinated. And together, we are its architects, its athletes and its artists.

My communication style

As a communicator in a profession in which communication is essential in every way, I am highly skilled, relaxed, focused, and comfortable. My orientation is consultative, informed by extensive psychological training, multidisciplinary experience in healthcare, and deep insight into human behavior. My maturity, experience and self-confidence enable my clients to relax and confidently disclose their deepest concerns so I can help them evaluate, formulate and implement practical, effective, personally compelling plans of action for wellness and recovery.

My journey to mental healthcare

I discovered my future profession when I was 13 years old and seemed to be the person that people came to talk to about their problems. It was also the year I found myself called to rescue people and intervene to prevent violence. The events of that year changed the course of my life forever. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of Colorado and my Master's in Clinical Psychology specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy at National University in San Diego. I completed my Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from the School of Professional Psychology at Union University. Living abroad as a child made me a careful observer of others and a rapid learner of their customs, traditions, cultures, religions and ideas. When my family finally returned to the USA, I entered high school in Colorado Springs, CO. I always wanted to play musical instruments growing up and taught myself guitar, flute and percussion. I believe that music and singing out loud stimulate essential areas of the brain. I am also an inventor of therapeutic and personal health devices. I believe that healing is a spiritual calling and that the character, intelligence, perception, clarity and heart of BOTH the Therapist & Patient are KEY factors in the success of therapy experiences.

My goals for you

Ownership is the essential ingredient of all Goal Setting and therapy is no different. You are the Chief Stakeholder in your own therapy. Where goal setting is concerned, I see my job as helping you determine, from a universe of Possible Goals, the Goals most probable to lead to your success and most central to your needs; the goals you are best prepared to achieve after you have been advised and prepared accordingly. Ownership, Partnership and preparation are key.

My first session with you

After our introduction and meeting, and joining our first session, the first thing I will ask you is to TELL ME how I can help you. You have the floor. I make only one promise. I will ASK you about anything I do not understand and I will do my very best to understand your needs.
