I have been working with clients struggling with eating disorders since 2002. For clients struggling with eating disorders, the goal is to guide the recovery process and make it manageable while also creating/maintaining your ‘life worth living so that one does not eclipse the other as the eating disorder often does in someone’s life. Though I am primarily a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapist, I prefer to use an eclectic approach with each client to account for their specific needs. This will include DBT and RO-DBT, CPT, CBT, ACT, Self-Compassion Therapy, and mindfulness training.
I tend to be very straightforward and think it is more important to be authentic, honest, and compassionate with clients than anything else. The goal is changed.
